Peggy Cyphers began teaching as a professor in various institutions, including New York University, Parsons School of Design, University of North Carolina, Greensboro, Royal Academy of Art Helsinki, Lahti Polytechnic Institute in Finland, School of Visual Arts, and New York School of Interior Design.
In 1989, Cyphers began teaching at her alma mater, Pratt Institute, where she worked with students such as Mickalene Thomas, Kathleen Vance, David Antonio Cruz, and Ryan Johnson, and continues to teach today.
